Running under a Sumbawa Rainbow

With the Holiday season upon us, the next couple weeks are going to be busy at home and at work. So let’s do our best to get our runs completed and not over stress about them. It would be better to just acknowledge beforehand that there are going to be some missed runs. It won’t hurt you to miss a run once in a while to spend time with family. I am already slightly behind where I want to be on my long runs. It isn’t enough to cause any worry yet. It will be best to listen to my body and not overdo it too quickly. The longer distance long runs will come in the next several weeks.

Tuesday evening’s run was a fast 7 mile tempo run. It wasn’t planned that way, but my legs went faster than I had thought possible, so I just went along with it. Those of you who follow me on Daily Mile, know that it is normal for me to run 11:30 per mile during the week. This tempo run was at 10:27 per mile average over the 7 miles. The sky was grey and a few drops of rain fell. The most spectacular rainbow hung over the mountain for a long time. This was a very good run.

Wednesday’s run was an easy paced 3.7 miles. After a long day at work it was good to get out and do at least this much. There was a lot of monkey’s out on the route, watching me run by. I think they were betting bananas that I wouldn’t make it.

Thursday evening’s run was rained out. Doesn’t hurt to take an extra day of rest. I hope everyone is having a great week.
