Motivation can be a funny thing. Everyone finds their motivation in different ways. Of course it is mental, but the smallest things can bring it on. And turn it off too. Finding out I would have to miss my “A” race in July turned my motivation off. I needed to get it back. I dug into my bag of tricks and bought a new pair of shoes. Funny how that works sometimes. Buying new equipment, signing up for a new race, or setting a new goal are some ways to bring it back.
Sunday and Monday I ran back to back 10 milers. Both days were done in the predawn darkness through Canggu. I needed to break in my new shoes and there is no better way than to go for a run.
I wore my CamelBak vest filled with water to add some weight. The effort was pretty easy, but I got the miles in and felt good after. Temperatures have been staying at about 79 degrees overnight. Not bad weather for a run through the star filled night.
Tuesday I ran one of my hardest workouts to date. 10 miles of hills. I worked the uphills to the point of walking and pushed the downhills. My legs got a great workout. Especially since it was my 3rd 10 mile run in 3 days. Finished just after dark and was pretty happy with the day.
