Earlier this week I went out for a couple of 5k runs at an easy to moderate pace. Nothing special, I just went for a run to clear out the stress from work. And I still love my Hoka’s
Today I went in for the first session of Electric Muscle Stimulation exercise. The premise is to activate more muscles in a shorter time by using electric impulses as you hold different stretches and poses. Excellent for slimming troublesome areas. Also boosts your metabolism. Maybe I will lose that last bit of belly fat?
My technician/instructor was named Sami. She helped me put on the vest and straps. Then we went into the steps of finding my levels of electrical intensity for different parts of my body. The machine is very adjustable for all different people and how much stimulation they are willing to handle. I think I had the levels pretty high.
It was interesting to feel the electric buzz through my body. The different poses were held for a short few seconds and the whole session was 20 minutes long.
I can tell that my muscles were worked. They are sore in a good way. It is hard to tell if it will affect my running, but I am willing to try. I signed up for 10 more sessions to give it a fair chance to show results.
